The Self-Improver by Nick Eades
The Self-Improver is an autobiographical account about how a university drop-out took his first steps towards becoming the world's most experienced Boeing 747 captain.
Author Nick Eades is originally from the South coast of England where he grew up in a family with a strong aviation background, close to Shoreham Airport in Sussex. As well as fans of aviation, Nick wanted to tell his story in a way that would appeal to those non-aviation readers interested in his life story overall. He now lives in East Grinstead with his wife Liz, who he met while flying, as described in the book. They have two grown sons, James and Robert. Both are doing well. The Self-Improver is Nick's first book and he is now writing the follow up, Still Improving which carries on his story where it finishes off at the end of The Self-Improver. Nick plans to continue writing and in his spare time, he enjoys walking his Golden Retriever, Alf, although Roffey will never be forgotten for being a loyal companion and for the important role he played in the story.
