The contributions in this major work focus on a central area of mathematics with strong ties to partial differential equations, algebraic geometry, number theory, and differential geometry. The 1995-96 MSRI program on Several Complex Variables emphasized these interactions and concentrated on current developments and problems that capitalize on this interplay of ideas and techniques. Michael Schneider. Studierte an der Akademie der bildenden Kunste in Wien und an der Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan. Arbeitet seit 1990 intensiv in den Techniken des Holzschnitts und Holzdrucks. Ausstellungen in Europa, Japan, Korea, Kanada und den USA. Seit 2006 Redaktionsmitglied des UM: DRUCK Zeitschrift fur Druckgraphik und visuelle Kultur. Neben seiner Arbeit als freischaffender Kunstler ist er Assistenzprofessor an der Webster University inWien und Senior Artist an der Universitat fur angewandte Kunst Wien. Philipp Maurer. Studium der Germanistik, Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte an der Universitat Wien. Seit 2006 Herausgeber und Chefredakteur des UM: DRUCK. Georg Lebzelter.
