Shocking Accident by Corrin Sara

A rocking-horse that brings mixed fortune. A heart which death cannot silence. A pig that falls from the sky...This collection contains short stories from around the world by such celebrated authors as Roald Dahl, Saki, P. G. Wodehouse, Edgar Allen Poe, Graham Greene, Jack London, D. H. Lawrence and Guy de Maupassant. Surprising, shocking, amusing, intriguing, terrifying, each of these stories has a sting in its tail!
Sara Corrin, along with her late husband Stephen, is well-known for her distinguished and popular anthologies for children, including a series of age-graded collections ranging from Stories for Under-Fives to Stories for Tens and Over. Sara says her greatest joy is sharing stories with children - as a teacher, she became known as The Storyteller, and pupils would come back years after they had left school to recall the tales they had enjoyed in her classes. In her position as Senior Lecturer in Education at a College of Education in Hertfordshire, she made children's responses to literature one of her main studies. After her retirement, Sara's storytelling took her to America, Holland, and all over Great Britain. Sara lives in London.
