Mike Skinner aka The Streets is arguably the most acclaimed new talent to emerge in the UK in the past five years. Jimmy Ramsay is the author of more than twenty books on music, youth culture and celebrity. Among the bands he has written about are The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana. He grew up in the same Birmingham streets as Mike Skinner and moved to London the same year that The Streets' frontman did. He now lives in Dulwich with a brown boxer dog and lots of red reminders.
