Unhitched by Sunny Mcmillan

Unhitched: Unlock Your Courage and Clarity and Unstick Your Bad Marriage is a heart-centered, yet practical guide for helping women in unhappy marriages answer the question of whether to stay or go. Unhitched tracks Sunny Joy McMillan’s own journey, from once living a seemingly perfect life on paper but really hiding an unhappy and high-conflict marriage, all the way to a loving, post-divorce friendship with her ex-husband. Demonstrated through both her own story and case studies from her clients, Sunny’s guide outlines a clear process for answering the question of whether to stay or go, shows women how to get divorced gracefully should they decide to leave, and tells women how to create a better, new life. Unhitched provides women with the clarity to make the right decisions for their marriage, courage to take the right action, and confidence that their life can be better on the other side. Although this guide is practical and includes many tangible exercises and tools, it is unlike similarly-themed guides in that it takes a less sterile and more heart-centered, spiritually-based approach to making tough decisions and taking tough action in a marriage.
"Getting unstuck (and we're all stuck in something whether we acknowledge it or not) is vital workAnd Sunny who actually broke free is the perfect guide. Part memoir, part manual, this book is for anyone who, as Sunny invites, knows they are meant for something more."
Pam Grout, #1 New York Times bestselling author of 19 books including E-Squared, Thank & Grow Rich and Art & Soul, Reloaded

“It’s too easy to stay in a toxic relationship because of the myriad fears our minds create around leaving. Unhitched doesn’t just give us permission to move on from our unhealthy marriages or partnerships, it gives us the tools to do it, with confidence and grace. This is a beautiful book, rich with lessons for living our truest lives. Through relevant stories, insightful writing exercises and a clear wisdom gleaned from a woman who has been there, Sunny Joy McMillan walks us down the necessary path of self-love, so that our decision to leave — or to stay — can be rooted in freedom rather than fear.”
SCOTT STABILE, author of Big Love: The Power of Living with a Wide-Open Heart

“Sunny Joy’s Unhitched beautifully weaves her own larger than life divorce tale (imagine living in Paris Hilton’s home, hosting glamorous boozy parties and brunching at The Ivy) with the incredible wisdom that can only come from living one’s truth. Wonderful stories of discovery from Sunny’s clients bring depth and breadth to this warm guide to forging your ideal relationship. A wonderful read for anyone trying to decide, ‘Should I stay or should I go?’”
SARAH BAMFORD SEIDELMANN, MD, author of Swimming with Elephants
