The Fifties showcases the work of some of the most dynamic artists, designers and manufacturers of the 1950s from the V&A's textile and wallpaper collections. The artists and designers highlighted include Lucienne Day, Joan Miro, Jacqueline Groag, Tom Mellors and Frank Lloyd Wright. The compact disc at the back of the book invites you to appreciate the ingenuity of the designs, and the endless possibilities for their application.
Sue Prichard is curator of contemporary textiles at the V&A. She has curated a number textiles exhibition and is currently working a major quilts book and exhibition to be held at the V&A in 2010.
