1980's Helen's life is in turmoil when she realises what Richard is and tries to get in touch with Christine to warn her, not knowing all the while Madge Holland is being held captive at the hands of her husband.

1990's Christine's youngest daughter is also subjected to the hands of Richard Ellis; she confronts him for the first time causing all sorts of complications. 'You can abuse a mother all her life but never lay a hand on her children.'

The three women form a bond so strong that together they unite to overcome the web he has spun. However, he refuses to be entangled in his own thread.

It is only when Madge and Christine's daughter, Ella and Bess along with their friend Nessa Brown are reunited back with their old enemy Peter Lawrence. The day is saved.again. This time, it is not Richard Ellis they are dealing with. They already did that. It's his son.
