Lucille Recht Penner was born in New York City and is an alumna of Barnard College. She has written more than twenty books for children on subjects ranging from dinosaurs to Native American food. One of her books for children was designated as an Ambassador Book by the English Speaking Union and two were selected as Honor Books by the Boston Globe/Horn Book Awards. Two more books were selections of the Children's Book-of-the-Month Club. Lucille lives in Tucson, Arizona. Paige Billin-Frye started her career illustrating Hallmark Cards before making the move to children's books. She has illustrated books published by Albert Whitman, Grosset & Dunlop, Dial Books, and Random House. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Paige currently lives in Washington, D.C.
