Shipley has worked as an economist at Lehman Brothers Japan, Credit Suisse First Boston Securities (Japan), Schroders Japan, and Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (West LB). He received a Japanese government scholarship when studying for his master’s degree in at Waseda University in Tokyo.
