Leonard M.Adkins, dubbed The Habitual Hiker by Backpacker magazine, has trekked more than 20,000 miles across the backcountry areas of the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, and New Zealand. He's hiked the Appalachian Trail five times, as well as the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico, the Pacific Northwest Trail through Montana, Idaho, and Washington, and the Milford Track in New Zealand. Other long-distance trails include the Long Trail in Vermont, the Allegheny Trail in West Virginia, and the Ozark Highlands Trail in Arkansas.
