Anxious Andy by Adam Ciccio

A sweet book about a little boy who wants to overcome his anxiety. For brave readers ages 5 years and up. Anxious Andy wants to do fun things with his friends. He watches them climb, run, and play, but he won’t join them because his worries keep getting in the way. His friends try to help him worry less and have fun, but it’s up to Andy to learn that there’s nothing to fear in trying.
"This book is great when it comes to helping kids deal with emotions and in this case, feeling anxiousIt simply explains it to ways kids understand and give solutions to dealing with this feeling" - Tallmadge city schools "Anxious Andy has a lot of fears and his friends try to help reassure him that he will be okay. This is a cute story about anxiety and on the surface, makes an attempt to help calm those fears by using distractions i.e. focusing on other things. Andy's mother does a good thing in talking with him about his fears and is reassuring. While I liked all of these helpful tips for Andy, it is unlikely that he would be "cured" from ever feeling anxious again. I would liked it to have ended with Andy remembering that sometimes he would feel anxious, but knowing how to deal with it so that he could get past it a little easier each time. I would just be concerned that children who don't immediately get over their anxiety would feel that something is wrong with them if they couldn't be like Andy. Parents and educators can expand on the story to explain that everyone has anxious moments and that there are things they can do to help. Overall, this is a cute story, that I would recommend. There aren't many available that address mental health issues for young children. I applaud the author in tackling this tricky topic." - King First Baptist Child Development Center "I love this book. There are lot of people who suffer from anxiety, this is a great story to teach about anxiety, and how to deal with it, there is also a little bit of humor..." - Rosario Juarez

After her graduation from the art academy, she gave art and drawing lessons to children. Currently, she makes so many illustrations, especially for educational publishers, that she doesn’t have time to teach. Myriam likes to discover new materials and techniques, and what effects they have. Is it sweet or angrier? She also uses the computer and the IPad to create the right atmosphere. Myriam wants to touch her public. And often that is with themes that are very close. Just have a look around ...
