Big Mama's Baby by Lacy Borgo

Ever since Big Mama brought Baby home, the local folks wonder how on earth she can keep him as a pet. When Big Mama calls, "Hey, Baby! Hey, Big Mama's Baby!" the calf comes trotting, looking for a hug and a scratch behind his ears. But calves have a habit of growing bigger . . . and bigger . . . and Baby is no different. Before long, Baby is waking the neighbors with his bellowing in the middle of the night and busting Big Mama's screened-in porch. And then one day, Baby is full-grown. What will Big Mama do now? This endearing story, with charming illustrations by Nancy Cote, is filled with homespun humor and lively language, perfect for reading aloud.
Lacy Finn Borgo comes from a west Texas family of storytellers. She has been a teacher in Texas, New York, and Colorado as well as Kazkhstan. She currently lives in rural Colorado.

Nancy Cote is the author and illustrator of Palm Trees and Flip-Flops, an American Bookseller's "Pick of the Lists." She is also the illustrator of Mrs. Fickle's Pickles by Lori Ries. Ms. Cote lives in Somerset, Massachusetts.
