Lorrie Moore is Vanderbilt University's Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of English. For her achievements in the short story, she has received the Irish Times International Prize for Fiction, a Lannan Foundation grant, the PEN/Malamud Award, and the Rea Award. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters' board of directors. She currently resides in Nashville.
