Angie Smibert is the author of the Memento Nora series, which Booklist described as a gift for both hesitant and regular readers, as well as a number of nonfiction books for kids and a number of short tales for adults and teens. Her mother's family used to work in the long-closed coal mines along the New River, and she grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia.
