a fascinating and detailed book.. a carefully written and well presented book detailing the authors thinking and analyses about children's theories of mind ... I found it stimulating and will refer back to its contents in the future. * Chris Walker, *
The years have not diminished its importance and have, if anything, increased it. One reason for its being an important book is that it explores one of the major tensions in cognitive delveopmental research...This book not only makes a substantial and provocative contribution to the research literature but it is ideal for undergraduate teaching and can profitably be read by preschool teachers and interested parents. For the transparent presentation of data and the judicious discussion of competing theories it can hardly be bettered. * James Russell, Child Psych.Psyc. 39 no4, 1998. *
