R. McNeill Alexander ist Professor emeritus fur Zoologie der Universitat Leeds. Er hat sich vor allem auf dem Gebiet der Biomechanik einen Namen gemacht und zahlreiche Bucher zu diesem Thema verfasst, darunter Dynamics of Dinosaurs, Bones: The Unity of Form and Function, Exploring Biomechanics und Optima for Animals.
