She received a B.A. in English from Stetson University, which is well known for its Stetson cowboy hat, and an M.F.A. in Writing from Spalding University. Kait worked as a phlebotomist, a bingo caller, a professional bellydancer, and an adjunct English professor before deciding that her eight-year-old self knew best: she was intended to be a romance writer.

Kait can typically be found enjoying time with her family, being an unintentional crazy cat woman (she now has four--don't ask), or with her nose buried in a good book when she's not busy with creating fascinating paranormal romance, page-turning suspense, or love scenes that make even seasoned romance readers blush. She enjoys visiting new places and traveling, particularly abroad. She shares her home in Florida with her adoring librarian husband, her adorable small kid, a lovable mangy mutt of a dog, and four cunning felines.
