Bill Knox began his writing career as a Glasgow journalist and was variously employed as a crime reporter, motoring correspondant and news editor. He made many contributions to radio and television and was well known to scottish viewers as the writer and presenter for twelve years of the Scottish Television police liason programme. 'Crime Desk'. Before his death in March 1999 he had written nearly seventy novels including twenty four in the Thane and Moss series.
