The author, Dr. David Berlinski, is a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute and formerly a fellow at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques in France. His other books include The Devil's Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions, Newton's Gift, and A Tour of the Calculus.

David Berlinski is a Ph.D. holder. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and is the bestselling author of A Tour of the Calculus, The Advent of the Algorithm, and Newton's Gift, among other works. Berlinski is a senior fellow at the Discovery Center in Seattle and a former fellow at the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis and the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques, among other publications. He is based in Paris.
