DOUGIE POYNTER is a songwriter, musician, designer, and author. Dougie has been fascinated with natural history and dinosaurs since he was three years old, when he and his mother visited the Natural History Museum. He is an avid conservationist and works with organizations such as WWF, Greenpeace, and Five Gyres because he is enthusiastic about the natural world. He is dedicated to cleaning up the environment and was a driving force behind the UK's microplastics ban. Dougie has been the bass guitarist for Mcfly since 2003, and he co-wrote the bestselling picture book series The Dinosaur That Pooped with bandmate Tom Fletcher.

The series, illustrated by Garry Parsons, has sold over a million copies. Dougie was also a part of the supergroup McBusted and won the jungle set show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2011.
