Eros and Civilization by Herbert Marcuse

He was a key member in the Frankfurt School of social theory, having studied at both the University of Berlin and the University of Freiburg. In the 1930s, he left Germany and moved to the United States, where he spent the rest of his life teaching at some of the country's most prestigious schools and institutions. He is the author of many publications, including One-Dimensional Man, Eros and Civilization, and others.
