Miles Johnson had a wonderful life until one night when it all changed for the worst. His wife was killed in what officials dubbed an unfortunate accident. He soon becomes suspicious of the circumstances surrounding her death. He conducts an investigation into the accident but fails to find appeasement and eventually relocates to a small coastal community in the Pacific Northwest. Life begins anew, he is content and serves the community as a magistrate. One day, a letter from an unknown source arrives and it sparks an avalanche of inquiry which takes him to places he never expected. A problem remains--the evidence, when divulged will likely destroy the lives of many innocent people. What he decides will affect everyone involved, including himself.
