Derek Jones began his career in the woodworking industry as an apprentice to a cabinetmaker, learning on the job the meticulous skills needed for fine furniture making. He went on to making bespoke furniture and joinery commissions. He is now the editor of Furniture & Cabinetmaking magazine and author of Bird, Bee & Bug Houses (9781861086440), his first book for GMC Publications. He lives in Brighton, East Sussex.
