Frog is a frog and Toad is a toad. They are clearly totally different from each other. So when an unlucky fly mistakes Frog and Toad for two frogs, the two are determined to set the record straight. After all, Toad is obviously stronger, while Frog is unmistakably the superior hopper . . . and before long, things start to get a bit heated among the amphibian population in the swamp. But when the two rivals have a close encounter with a snappy alligator, both Frog and Toad see the benefit of joining forces. Perhaps they're not so different after all? In his authorial debut, author-illustrator Ben Mantle offers a laugh-out-loud look at putting aside differences and celebrating the fact that friends come in all shapes and sizes.

After working as an architect for several years, Jonathan Emmett turned to a full-time career writing young fiction and picture books, and also writing and paper-engineering a number of pop-up books. His books have won several awards including the Red House Children's Book Award for Pigs Might Fly and the Kiekeboekprijs award for Bringing Down the Moon. Ben Mantle studied animation at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, graduating in 2003. He later joined the crew working on Tim Burton's Corpse Bride in 2005. Ben also worked as Head of Animation in a Brighton-based studio and his recent titles include Busy Bug Book and the runaway smash in the US Five Little Pumpkins. He has also recently worked on a BAFTA nominated CBeebies website.
