Goodnight, Veggies by Diana Murray
★ "The childlike approach, appealing art, and relatable worm character...connect story and audience." --The Horn Book, STARRED review
Every veggie needs their shut-eye in this bedtime book that celebrates community, the joys of a small garden, and the importance of taking care of ourselves. Illustrated by New York Times bestselling artist Zachariah OHora, Goodnight Veggies is perfect for fans of the Llama Llama series and will keep emerging readers engaged with adorable illustrations, especially while children are at home exploring backyards, plant pots, and balcony garden patches.
As the sun begins to set, the tomatoes are tuckered out, the cucumbers are calm, and the beets are simply beat.
But what's got them all so exhausted?
Celebrate the turning of day to night in this perfect bedtime ritual for plants--and humans--everywhere!
Diana Murray enjoys sitting on her terrace and creating stories and poetry, especially when listening to the rain. She has written several children's books, including City Shapes, Grimelda: The Very Messy Witch, Doris the Bookasaurus, and others. Her poetry have featured in Highlights for Children and Spider, among other publications. Diana grew up in New York City and continues to reside there with her firefighter husband, two daughters, a lizard, and a hamster, all of which enjoy the warm summer days. Zoe Persico is a big fan of summer afternoon rainstorms and all things colorful.
Dreamworks TV, Sesame Workshop, American Girl, and others are among her clientele, and she enjoys illustrating for children's books and animation. Zoe grew up in the Midwest and now lives in the Pacific Northwest, where the rain never seems to stop but does provide her with lots of opportunities to stomp in puddles.
