Gossip from Thrush Green by Read Mis

GOSSIP FROM THRUSH GREEN returns readers to the delightful English village, neighbor to Fairacre, for a golden summer. But this sleepy, pristine setting conceals a flurry of activity amongst the villagers. Rumor has it that Mr. Venables is considering retirement just as the village's teacher is about to make an important decision. Molly Curdle prepares for a new baby. The kindly vicar, Charles Henstock, works on his sermon -- quite unaware of the disaster that will overtake him. However, there is never any doubt that all will end well in this very English village.

Tim Read has worked in the computer business in the United Kingdom since 1985. He joined Sun Microsystems in 1990 and now works for Oracle's Solaris Availability Engineering division as a software developer. Many Sun BluePrints and white papers have been published and coauthored by him, including Building Enterprise Solutions with Sun Cluster 3.0. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a combined honours degree in physics and astrophysics. He enjoys running, tandem riding, and touring the Outer Hebrides islands in northwest Scotland when he is not working.
