Ali Mohammed Al-Baluchi was born in Saudi Arabia soon after the Unification. His life story is set against the backdrop of an Eastern Province and desert kingdom developing rapidly through decades of great change. The son of a customs house guard, Al-Baluchi started work as an office boy for Aramco in 1949. Eventually retiring as a general manager in 1990, he earned two college degrees along the way. Since then, he has continued as a force for change in local business, community and sporting arenas. He is perhaps most notable for his service in the causes of both Saudi national and expatriate retirees.
