How Dare We! is edited by Sherry Quan Lee, MFA, University of Minnesota, and Distinguished Alumna, North Hennepin Community College. Love Imagined: a Mixed Race Memoir, her most recent book, was a Minnesota Book Award nominee in 2015. Chinese Blackbird, a memoir in verse, How to Write a Suicide Note: serial essays that saved a woman's life, and a chapbook, A Bit Mixed Up, are among her previous works. Quan Lee was a participant in the Loft Literary Center's Asian Inroads Program and later served as the program's mentor. She was previously the Writer to Writer mentor at Intermedia Arts' SASE: the Writing Place.
She was also a poetry mentor for the Loft Literary Center's Mentors Series in 2015-2016. She was the Asian American Renaissance's Artist and Youth Program Manager, as well as a volunteer editor for Body of Tales, the Asian American Renaissance's fifth journal, and Spirits, Myths, and Dreams: Stories in Transit, the Asian American Renaissance's fourth journal. She recently retired from Metropolitan State University in St. Louis as an adjunct creative writing instructor. Paul, Minnesota, and has taught creative writing at St. Paul University.
