Inequality and Social Work by Rick Hood
Inequality lies at the heart of many of the challenges you will face as a social worker as you prepare to work with some of the most excluded, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals, families and communities. This book is designed to help you think critically about the skills and knowledge you need to understand and tackle inequality, and provide meaningful help to those people most in need. Key topics include: - what is inequality and the role of social work - social inequalities - health and welfare inequalities - global inequalities - the role of social policy - intersectional social work, radical social work and community-based approaches.A long awaited title to help social workers identify and understand inequalities within their workA pleasure to read with case studies and exercises to engage in!
