The Ellis Peters Historical Dagger Award, the Edgar Award for best first novel, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, and the Macavity Award were all shortlisted for The Bridge of Sighs. Liberation Movements was also a Edgar Award finalist. Steinhauer was born in Virginia and now resides in Budapest.
