Love and the Game by Johnni Sherri

Tomboy Perri grew up shooting hoops and playing video games alongside her best friend, Plus. However, as they grow up, Perri discovers her secret desire to be more than just his best friend. On prom night, their relationship takes an unexpected turn, and she ends up pregnant with his child. Soon, Perri is forced to give up her basketball scholarship and become a single mother. Years down the line Plus's best friend sweeps Perri off her feet, and Plus shares only a daughter and a withered friendship with Perri. When tragedy strikes, will Perri and Plus rediscover the connection they once shared?

Johnni Sherri, who was born in Baltimore, Maryland, has always been a passionate arts enthusiast. She works in the corporate world, but she still finds time to pursue one of her greatest passions: writing. She entered a short story contest in 2017 and earned her first publication deal after covertly creating several short stories over the years. She tries to convey the complexities of young urban love to her readers in a way that they can understand. She has a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and lives in North Carolina with her husband and three beautiful children.
