An illustrated book showing how Graham Rust's designs for walls, ceilings, architectural features and furnishings can be adapated to any house or flat on a grand or small scale. The author shares his experience of painting interiors, providing designs and motifs for figurative work and patterned decoration, explaining the logic of room design and offering technical expertise and insight. As the book is designed to be used in practical ways to enable readers to copy and adapt the room designs to their own particular spaces there are pages of original designs and working drawings interspersed with room plans and examples of painted rooms. Photographs of projects to date illustrate paintings in situ and a step-by-step sequence shows the full progress of a design from working drawings to completed mural. The author's most celebrated mural is the landscape and figure painting which now covers the entire staircase at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.
