Patently Ridiculous by Richard Ross

After months of research at the US Patent Office - the repository of delightfully improbable dreams - Richard Ross has amassed a collection of some of the most unique, odd, awe-inspiring patent applications seen over the last century. The result is this treasure trove of wacky and wonderful real-life inventions which include: nasal filters, self-foaming shavers, umbrellas with ears and shoelace tip holders. Illustrated with the inventors' own diagrams, this lighthearted compilations is perfect for anyone seeking the more unusual side of genius.

Since the age of 19, RICHARD ROSS, PH.D., has been in active ministry with youths. He is a youth ministry professor at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth. Richard has authored or edited 23 books on youth ministry, adolescence, and families. At over 500 churches and conferences, he has addressed parents and leaders. For three decades, he worked as a student minister and oversaw the training of a denomination's youth ministers. Richard is also a co-founder of the True Love Waits purity movement.
