Denney critically examines the social construction of risk, by considering a range of social theories, addressing the literature and providing an authoritative guide to the key issues raised.David Denney worked as a probation officer in Birmingham and London. He has taught on social work and Social Policy courses at the Universities of Kent and Wales. He currently holds a Senior Lectureship/ Readership at Royal Holloway University of London. He has held a visiting scholarship at the
University of North Carolina and has wide international consultancy experience. He gave evidence to the Commission on Systemic racism in the Ontario Criminal Justice System.
