The hero of this phenomenally successful historical trilogy is Arn Magnusson, born in 1150 to an aristocratic Swedish family. Jan Guillou was born in 1944 and is the author of the COQ ROUGE series of thrillers. He is one of Sweden's most popular and controversial journalists.
