Stewart, Julie G.: - Julie Stewart, DNP, MSN, MPH, FNP-BC, Assistant Professor & Assistant Director of the FNP Program, Sacred Heart University. Dr. Stewart received her DNP from Case Western Reserve University, MSN/FNP from Sacred Heart University, and MPH from the UCONN Health Center. Dr. Stewart has earned numerous awards including the prestigious National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties Annual recognition award for Outstanding Faculty Practice, the Florence S. Wald Award for Outstanding Contributions to Nursing Practice from the Connecticut Nurses' Association, CT Nurse Practitioner of the year for 2006 by CTAPRNS, and received the Sacred Heart University CEHP Alumni Leadership Award 2006. In addition to teaching in the FNP and DNP programs Dr. Stewart provides comprehensive medical and specialty care to patients infected with HIV as a certified HIV Specialist, as well as to general medical patients in clinic settings, has been a sexual abuse medical examiner for children and adults, and participates in medical missions to Jamaica and Guatemala providing medical care to those in need, bringing nurse practitioner students and BSN students along with other faculty.
