Gerald Abraham was a well-known music and literature teacher, editor, and writer. He was a music professor at Liverpool University, as well as the editor of Monthly Musical Record and the President of the International Society for Music Education. He was the general editor of -The History of Music in Sound,' the secretary of The New Oxford History of Music's editorial board, and the author of numerous technical and general books.
