Shattered Dreams by Matilda Kauffman

This is the heart-rending story of one woman's walk that is repeated a thousand times over in America and around the world. This was never a part of her plans or expectations. But it happened; her husband of many years left her, their seven children, and took all the money too. Matilda tells her story without malice and bitterness. How is that possible? How could she cope? How could she survive? It is possible, but not alone, for God heard her cry. Kauffman tells her story to give direction and hope to other women who find themselves also alone and shattered.
Matilda Kauffman was born into an Amish home. Like any young Amish girl she dreamed of marrying and having a family. This dream was realized when a handsome young man of many talents came asking for her hand in marriage. They were married and experienced many years of happy marriage together. Seven children were born in this union. But something happened and Matilda Kauffman lost her lover, husband, and the father of her children. Left to find her way, she tells her own story in this her first book. Today she is living in the peace that only Christ can give, enjoying her growing family of grandchildren, showing them by teaching and example how to respond in some of the most difficult of circumstances.
