Marozzi and his travelling companion Ned had never travelled in the desert, nor had they ridden camels before embarking on this expedition. Justin Marozzi is assistant editor of the Spectator. He also writes for the Economist and is a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service. He read History at Cambridge and has an MA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. This is his first book.
