Shawn has cerebral palsy: highly intelligent, he has no control whatsoever over his body or its functions. His eyes wander or settle without control. His mouth, tongue, swallowing muscles all have a life of their own. No act of will by Shawn can affect anything he does or anything that happens to him. Terry Trueman has worked as, among other things, a therapist, a community college writing instructor and an annuities salesman. He is also a political activist, a public radio film critic and a published poet. He is also the father of Sheehan, who has severe cerebral palsy. STUCK IN NEUTRAL is his first novel.
