It brought in a new era of comedy and introduced a new pair of writers who were to become household names on radio and TV: Frank Muir and Denis Norden. 'Take It From Here' gave us puns galore and the weekly goings-on relating to the marathon engagement between drippy Ron and doting Eth in 'The Glums'. `Oh, Ron!’ and the inevitable response `Oh, Eth!’ became a catchphrase that swept the land. These four superb episodes from 1949 and 1950 – which have never been released before on audio, and have been specially restored for this release – show why 'Take It From Here' was the original `fast show’, and why it deserves to be part of The Golden Age of Comedy.

Frank Herbert Muir, CBE (5 February 1920 – 2 January 1998) was an English comedy writer, radio and television personality, and raconteur. His writing and performing partnership with Denis Nordenendured for most of their careers. Together they wrote BBC radio's Take It From Here for over 10 years, and then appeared on BBC radio quizzes My Word! and My Music for another 35.
