The book follows Brian's career throughout his postings both in the UK, and overseas. Despite being someone who joined, not knowing too much about the trade he signed up for, he somehow fooled several people into promoting him a few times and eventually found himself attached to the elite RAF Special Forces Flight, serving with them during the Gulf War. It is an honest memoir, reflecting upon both the highs, and the lows, of serving in the RAF during the 1980s and early 1990s. The book is both funny and poignant, and leads the reader through this amusing, realistic, adventure called life.

Dixon, Brian: - Brian E. Dixon, MPA, PhD, FACMI, FHIMSS both teaches and does research in the area of health information exchange. Since 2012, he has taught a course on HIE, first at the IU School of Informatics and Computing and now at the IU Fairbanks School of Public Health. The course covers the fundamentals of information exchange between clinical and public health organizations, focusing on governance, privacy, and technical aspects of developing as well as managing HIE. His research focuses on improving clinical and public health decision-making through innovative processes and technologies that provide comprehensive information on patient and population health. Recent and ongoing work includes leveraging clinical and administrative data in electronic health records from an HIE to improve public health reporting processes, surveillance activities, continuity of care for Veterans, and community health assessment activities.
