Lee Maracle, a member of the Sto lō nation, is a prolific and well-known Canadian author. Maracle is an lecturer in Indigenous Studies at the University of Toronto and the recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal (2009) for her work supporting writing among Indigenous students. She has also received the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Arts (2014), the Anne Green Award (2016), and the Bonham Centre Award (2017).
