Their Day Has Passed by Alan Wright
This book throws fresh light on the experiences of Gypsies in Surrey and South London at the dawn of the modern era. It uses a wide range of records to paint a detailed picture of people who left few written records themselves. It shows how external forces including enclosure, urban expansion, changing economic circumstances and ever-intrusive legislation, increasingly challenged their way of life. The parallel struggles of local communities and institutions to respond effectively and the development of perceptions and prejudices have a contemporary resonance that should interest the general reader as well as academics and local and family historians.
Alan Wright was born in Phoenix Arizona. He is a retired HVAC Engineer from a school district in Arizona. He lives in Utah with his wife, Lori, and their three dogs. Alan's grandmother and mother were clairvoyant and would have dreams about things that affected them or their families. He inherited those things plus other abilities Alan's wife encouraged him to write a book about his life and experiences. Everything in the book is absolutely true and happened over the years of his life. Alan Wright is an empath, sensitive, healer and passive medium (meaning he does not try to nor can he control his experiences with spirit.) Alan finds his abilities intensifying with age. Alan is the author of two books about his experiences. THROUGH THE VEIL AND BACK: CHRONICLES OF A HEALER AND PASSIVE MEDIUM (2015 Stellium Books)and AT THE EDGE OF INFINITY: A HEALER'S JOURNEY (2016 Stellium Books)
