Neil Redfearn is a man dedicated to - some might say obsessed by - football. He has seen promotion to the Premiership (with Barnsley and Oldham) and relegation from the Football League (with Halifax); made nearly 1000 senior appearances over a quarter of a century and scored just short of 200 goals. He talks about the managers he has played for - including Brian Clough, Alan Curbishley and Joe Royle - as well as some he hasn't: Arsene Wenger once described him as the dirtiest player in the Premiership. Neil Redfearn was born in Dewsbury, West Yorks, in 1965. Over forty years later, he is still playing professional football. His career journey began as an apprentice with Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in 1981, and has taken him to a total of 14 different clubs - including Bolton, Crystal Palace, Barnsley, Charlton and Bradford - and close to a record number of senior appearances.
