Maureen Waller earned her bachelor's degree in medieval and contemporary history from University College London. She earned a master's degree in British and European history 1660-1714 from Queen Mary College in London. She went into publishing after a brief stint at the National Portrait Gallery. She has worked for a number of well-known publishing houses.
