The USA Today Weather Book by Jack Williams

Online promo.Jack Williams was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and after graduating from high school, joined the US Marine Corps. He attended Jacksonville (Fla.) University after his military service and graduated with a bachelor's degree in history and government in 1962. He began his journalism career while still in college at the Florida Times Union in Jacksonville, and went on to work for the Jacksonville Journal, the Rochester Times Union, and the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. When USA Today first began publication in September 1982, Jack Williams was the weather page editor. When Hurricane Andrew hit Dade County in 1992, Williams was at the National Hurricane Center, which was on the edge of the fiercest winds. He's pursued tornadoes with researchers and flown into three storms.
Williams was one of a half-dozen journalists chosen by the National Science Foundation to cover research in Antarctica in January 1999. He is the author of The USA Today Weather Book, which won the Louis J. Smith Award from the American Meteorological Society. The USA Today Weather Almanac, as well as the Battan Author's Prize.
