The Very Helpful Monsters by Sally Huss

Herbie was a very little fellow who knew exactly what he wanted to be - a monster. He had his reasons. Being small, he wanted others to notice him and he felt that there was no better way to do that than to become a monster. So, he set out to find out how to become one. After finding no luck on his Internet searches for the information he needed, he decided he would get the real low-down on monsters from monsters themselves. One after another answered his questions and sent him off to interview another. But it was the fifth monster who put him straight. Changing his goals, Herbie decided that there was a better way to get what he wanted. What do you think he did? Over 35 amusing and colorful illustrations accompany this charming story.
Sally Huss has been a writer and artist all of her life. She is a native Californian who graduated from USC with a degree in Fine Arts. At the same time she was developing her writing and art, she was honing her tennis skills. She became National Junior Champion and a Wimbledon semi-finalist. When she finally put down her competitive tennis rackets she created her own special Zen tennis, which she taught to celebrity clientele in Beverly Hills and Malibu. Later she wrote a book about her method called HOW TO PLAY POWER TENNIS WITH EASE (Harcourt, Brace Publishers.) Moving from tennis courts to the entertainment industry, Sally became assistant to Samuel Goldwyn, Jr., then managed Paul Simon's music publishing company. In the late 70's Sally married Marv Huss, head of advertising and promotion for Hallmark Cards. Marv developed Sally's art and writing into licensed products. Through this, her creations have danced across lines of greeting cards, ceramics, wallpaper, clothing, purses and totes, baby bibs, books and children's books. The latter includes BUTTERFLY KISSES and several books for children with diabetes. Sally also put together her thoughts on happiness in THE HAPPY BOOK, which contains 30 daily exercises for greater joy. Today Sally's paintings brighten walls in homes, office buildings, restaurants and hotels across the country. And, her gifts, products and gift art delight hearts everywhere. In 2006 King Features syndicated Sally's Happy Musings for newspapers, combining her whimsical illustrations with her uplifting life thoughts. Her most recent book HOW TO GET YOUR MAN reveals her formula for finding the love of your life using the Law of Attraction. All of Sally's work is happy in nature and free-spirited in style. She invites you to visit www.sallyhuss.com to view her many products and receive her Happy Musings free.
