Starting with the history of Chile and its wine industry, the work includes details on the country's diversity of terroirs, the range of wine styles available, and the variety of winemaking techniques in use, plus a topical discussion of recent developments. A polished and fluent writer" Andrew Jefford, Evening Standard. An "oasis of good sense and imagination." Nick Faith, Harpers.
Peter Richards began his love affair with wine as a journalist in Chile, spending six months touring 100 or so wineries, before returning to the UK and winning Webster's Young Wine Writer Award in 2001 - for an article on Chile. His first book, Wineries with Style (Mitchell Beazley), won the Gourmand Award for Best Wine Tourism/Atlas in 2004. A regular visitor to South America, Richards' expertise on Chile is much in demand, his writing features regularly in newspapers and wine magazines including Decanter, and his website, www.winedevinity.com, serves as a lively introduction to the world of wine.
