Zenworld by Kaisa Puhakka

Zenworld is an authentic and thought-provoking account of one woman's journey back to her true nature and oneness with all of life. Kaisa Puhakka has always had a deep desire for connection with Being, whether it be through the great silences of the forests of her native Finland, or the inner workings of her own mind. This lifelong quest eventually leads her to the Mt. Baldy Zen Center in California, home for many decades to Roshi Kyozan Joshu Sasaki, a celebrated and highly unconventional Japanese Rinzai Zen master. Over a period of years spent in sesshin, she grapples with the koan of reconciling Roshi's powerful presence, wisdom, and love with his sexual indiscretions, ultimately awakening to deeper insights into the human self - her own as well as her teacher's-culminating in an understanding of the truth, freedom, and compassion that are present in each moment and available to us all.

Tobin Hart is Associate Professor in the Humanistic/Transpersonal Psychology Department at State University of West Georgia. Peter L. Nelson is a private research consultant in Melbourne, Australia. Kaisa Puhakka is Professor and Core Faculty at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California, and the author of Knowledge and Reality: A Comparative.
